MANRRS 40 Under 40

I am truly honored to be named a MANRRS 40 Under 40 Honoree, a recognition that celebrates emerging leaders who are advancing agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences while creating meaningful impact in their communities and professions. MANRRS has been a defining part of my journey since I joined as a freshman at Tennessee State University in 2005. What began as a student organization quickly became a lifelong professional home that shaped my identity as a leader, scholar, mentor, and advocate for opportunity.

Through MANRRS I found my first national network, my first leadership roles, and a community that challenged me to grow with purpose. I have had the privilege of serving in national leadership, contributing at the regional level, and now giving back as co advisor for the University of Maryland chapter. Across each stage of my career, MANRRS has remained a constant source of mentorship, collaboration, and inspiration. The organization has not only opened doors for me, it has positioned me to help hold those doors open for others.

This honor represents more than a personal milestone. It reflects the collective investment that mentors, peers, students, and colleagues have poured into me over the past two decades. It also represents a responsibility to continue building pathways for the next generation of leaders, particularly those who are seeking community, professional development, and a place where their brilliance is affirmed.

As part of the 40 Under 40 class, I am committed to supporting MANRRS’ Annual Giving Campaign with a goal of raising $

1,000. This shared effort across all honorees will generate critical resources that directly support student scholarships, leadership development experiences, national and regional programming, mentorship, and workforce preparation. These investments ensure that students and young professionals have access to the same life changing opportunities that helped shape my journey.

Your support is not simply a donation. It is an investment in future scientists, educators, industry leaders, and change agents who will strengthen our communities and transform our fields. It helps a first year student attend their first national conference, supports leadership training that builds confidence and professional skills, and sustains a network that continues to open doors across generations.
