I’m a Master of Social Work student inspired by the resilience, wisdom, and quiet strength of older adults. My journey into social work began from a simple truth I’ve witnessed time and again — aging is both a privilege and a challenge. It is a season of reflection, growth, and legacy, yet too often, it’s marked by isolation and a sense of invisibility. I want to help change that.

From my earliest experiences volunteering in senior centers to my clinical training as an MSW student, I’ve seen how meaningful connection can rekindle purpose in someone’s life. A listening ear, a shared story, or a simple act of kindness can remind an older adult that they still matter — that their presence enriches our communities in powerful ways. It’s this belief that fuels my commitment to advocating for the rights, well-being, and dignity of aging adults.

This fundraising campaign for Area 1 Agency on Aging is deeply personal to me. It represents a chance to transform compassion into tangible support — to expand resources for older adults who deserve care that honors their humanity. The funds raised will help strengthen programs that reduce loneliness, provide access to essential services, and create spaces where older adults feel seen, connected, and valued.

Aging is a journey we all share, and how we care for our elders reflects the kind of society we want to be. When we invest in them, we invest in our collective future. Through this campaign, I hope to inspire others to see aging not as a decline, but as a continuation of a meaningful life — one that still holds possibility, love, and contribution. The stories of older adults remind me daily that empathy and community can transform lives, and I’m committed to being part of that transformation.
