New update
The only pup to survive the treatment was Snape. He has been adopted to his new furever home and doing well as far as we know. Our vet bill for the treatment for the 3 pups $3,687.75. All the donations go directly towards the medical care these pups received. We appreciate all donations and support!
On November 6, 2025, Benton Animal Services officers responded to a call regarding abandoned puppies at the Benton Dog Park. Upon arrival, officers located 7 Great Dane type puppies that had been abandoned at the park. The puppies appeared to be healthy butut were still placed under a quarantine hold at the shelter as a precaution. After 10 days of seeing nothing no symptoms of illness, some of the puppies were adopted. On day 13, some of the puppies began showing signs of illness (diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, etc.), 3 of these puppies were still at the shelter. The 3 puppies arrived at the vet on 11/20/2025 and immediately began treatments for parvo. Thankfully, we were able to contact the families of the puppies that had already been adopted, and they were able to provide care for the pups in the early stages of the virus. However, we are struggling to provide care for the 3 puppies remaining with Benton Animal Services. They are still being hospitalized and receiving parvo treatments, but it is very costly for a municipal shelter running on a strict budget. Each treatment is $350 and each of the 3 puppies has required multiple treatments. If you are able, please consider donating to help provide the vet care that Lily, Snape, and Tonks need. We are hopeful they will be well soon and find their furever homes in time for the holidays!
Thank you to everyone who gives and remembers these sweet pups in your thoughts.
