I ride for Team Weist: Jess, Ava, Emory, Robin, Lindsay, Kevin and all the cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends of Nicholas Weist. Nick, my nephew, was killed in 2022 and I ride to continue to be able to tell his story and support those families across Illinois who also have lost their loved one in the line of duty. Nick loved helping people, being a husband, dad, son, brother, or whatever the person he was with needed of him. His generous kind-hearted spirit is just one of the many things people who knew Nick loved about him. I ride to keep his story going, to make others aware of the fact that some people go to work everyday and their work is protecting the rest of us. Nick loved that he could do that for others. I get the honor of doing this for him, I know he would do it for me.
