Since 2009, RIOT has created safe spaces where girls, women, trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse youth and adults can express, connect, and be unapologetically themselves — through music.

The past few years have been challenging — post-COVID funding constraints pushed RIOT to go fully volunteer-run and scale back programs. But the need never disappeared. And our community kept us going 💛 

This year marks a true RIOT renaissance: new leadership, renewed momentum, and a clear commitment to rebuilding programming and reconnecting our community.

Now we’re ready to bring back consistent programming — and we need your help.

$10 – Fuel the Vibe – Provides healthy snacks + drinks that help campers stay energized during workshops and band practice. 

$25 – Tools for Expression – Buys supplies like picks, drumsticks, strings, markers, flipchart paper, the little tools that make creativity possible.

$50 – Gear That Makes It Possible – Helps maintain our shared instruments + equipment (cables, tuners, amp repair, mic replacements), ensuring participants always have access to working gear.

$100 – Safe Creative Space for a Day – Covers space rental + setup for a band practice, workshop, or community event that gives people an identity-affirming place to create. Plus – receive a RIOT Renaissance tote bag as a thank you!

$250 – Partial Camp Scholarship – Funds a partial scholarship for a youth or adult to participate in a RIOT camp or multi-week program, making RIOT programming more accessible. Plus – receive a RIOT Renaissance t-shirt as a thank you!

$500 – Full Camp Scholarship – Funds a full scholarship for a youth or adult to participate in a RIOT camp or multi-week program at no cost, removing a key barrier to access.

$1,000 – Sustain the Sound – Helps pay a teaching artist, program coordinator, or development contractor so RIOT can continue rebuilding programs AND secure future funding.

$2,500 – Rebuild the Stage – Provides major support toward relaunching consistent programming, covering equipment upgrades, expanded workshops, and partnership-based programs.

$5,000 – Keep the Music Alive – Ensures RIOT can run community programs + pursue long-term grant funding, literally keeping the doors open for safe, creative, identity-centered music spaces.
