I am honored to be a part of Forward Through Ferguson, a nonprofit dedicated to facilitating the Ferguson Commission's 189 Calls to Action in order to transform St. Louis and beyond. The opportunity to strive for racial equity is one I don't take lightly, especially as efforts to achieve justice continue to be threatened.

As a primary care physician, I believe it is vital to understand underlying health inequities in order to truly heal a community. One of my favorite examples of FTF's work comes from Still Separate, Still Unequal, a toolkit to explore education disparities in St. Louis. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my own SLU Family Medicine Residency teaches future doctors about the findings of Still Separate, Still Unequal. I was humbled to see FTF's work in the community, and more specifically, in my own healthcare community.

I have come to love St. Louis and its communities and I feel lucky to be a part of them. I believe strongly in our collective ability to collaborate, as individuals and institutions, to create a more just society. I would love to see St. Louis continue to be an international leader in demonstrating change, and Forward Through Ferguson is a great example of what is possible. I kindly ask that you support the cause for systemic change!
