Give for Good 2025

I am raising money to support The Village School of Louisville, a JK - 10th grade school inspired by the proven Finnish model of education, providing project-based learning with real world applications rooted in equity. VSL believes that students thrive when their caregivers thrive and thus takes a whole family approach to educating the whole child. 

I am proud to be part of an organization taking initiative to offer a transformative education, which honors each students’ evolution of self and self discovery to guide their path today towards skills and strengths required to be good future stewards of our shared world.

Our school draws upon the Finnish concept of "sisu", an integral part of Finland's culture. Although sisu has no direct English translation, it embodies the essence of courage, resilience, determination, and inner strength in the face of challenges. Sisu is about moving forward despite obstacles, believing in one's capacity to persevere, and embracing difficulties as opportunities for growth. Through community VSL students and faculty learn, fail, get back up, and trust that great things come from a process of continual improvement. As the VSL phoenix mascot depicts, this community is the fire rising from the ashes, spreading its wings, and meeting the challenges of today as students take flight in the opportunities of the future.
