GHH Caterpillars

As Genesis Hopeful Haven (GHH) celebrates its 11th anniversary, we’re reminded of the tremendous needs of youth transitioning out of foster care in our community. South Florida, well over 150 youth age out of foster care each year. Many of these resilient young people face the daunting task of building their lives without the safety net of a family or community.

Imagine facing adulthood without a network to rely on—no one to teach you to drive, no one to share holidays with, no one to call when you land your first job or need guidance during tough times. These are things many of us take for granted, yet they’re essential to feeling secure, loved, and prepared for life’s challenges.

GHH does more than teach life skills. GHH provides these young adults with a caring community, helping them build confidence, celebrate milestones, and learn the skills they need to become truly independent. But we can’t do it alone.

The Caterpillar Program is the youngest yet mightiest branch of the Genesis family. Through this program, we support youth in maintaining stable housing and advancing their educational goals. We provide tutoring, family-bonding field trips, life skills development, and many other enriching opportunities. It has been incredible to see our young participants grow, evolve, and continue within the program. We take great pride in creating a space where they can build community, access vital resources, and thrive.
