NOLA to Angola is an annual solidarity bicycle ride fundraiser that supports the efforts to mitigate and reverse the impacts of the U.S. prison system. Each year, we bike from New Orleans to Angola. Each mile is pedaled in solidarity with families who travel long distances to connect with their incarcerated loved ones. All funds raised will go to the Cornerstone Builders’ Bus Project, which provides free monthly transportation from New Orleans and Shreveport for folks to visit loved ones incarcerated in Louisiana prisons.
Given the political climate of a Landry administration in Louisiana, the work of Cornerstone Builders' Bus Project to keep families together is more important than ever. I believe in a world without prisons, and I believe in the importance of family reunification, despite the barriers of a harsh carceral system (or the barriers of fabricated borders and cruel immigration laws). As we embark on our bicycle journeys in October, I am asking for your support by donating or sharing.
