Carlos Villacis for Be Strong

The Be Strong After School Club (BSASC) is something I believe in deeply because I’ve seen firsthand how meaningful it is for children to have a safe, supportive place where they can learn, create, and simply be themselves.

BSASC provides children with something every child deserves: a space where they feel cared for, encouraged, and empowered to discover their strengths. Through homework help, creative writing, culinary arts, and other enriching experiences, children are building confidence and skills that can stay with them for a lifetime. And importantly, these programs are offered at no cost to families.

My connection to Be Strong International is personal. Being part of this organization has impacted my own life in ways I didn’t expect. The Heart Skills I’ve learned have helped me become a better friend, a better husband, and a better father. They’ve changed the way I communicate, connect, and show up for the people I love.

That’s why I believe so strongly in this mission. I’ve experienced the impact of this work in my own life and relationships, and I’ve seen the difference Be Strong can make in our community.

This Give Miami Day, I’m proud to support BSASC as we work to reach more children, strengthen our programs, and keep these opportunities free for families who need them.
