Join Me in Supporting Touro’s Maternal Fetal Medicine Transportation Program
As Director of Philanthropy for the Touro Infirmary Foundation, I’ve seen how easily a missed ride can become a missed appointment, and how dangerous that can be for high‑risk pregnancies. In fact, transportation remains one of the most significant barriers to timely prenatal care in Louisiana.
That’s why the Foundation created the Maternal Fetal Medicine Transportation Program.
As the state’s only Level IV birthing center, Touro cares for patients who need frequent monitoring and urgent evaluation. This program ensures that lack of transportation never stands between a mother and the care that could protect her life and her baby’s.
Reliable transportation helps reduce missed visits, delayed responses to warning signs, and preventable complications like preeclampsia, infection, hemorrhage, and preterm birth.
