Pope John Paul II, Address to the Austrian Bishops.
Kenrick-Glennon Seminary is convicted that a healthy, holy, joy-filled priesthood begins and ends with intimacy with the Trinity. This is what the Church and the world are thirsting for, and the people of God look to their Shepherds to guide them in cultivating this interiority. With this in mind, we are committed to accompanying the Holy Spirit in forming the interior life of seminarians.
Every January, the men of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary embark upon an interior journey through a 5-day silent retreat. The extended time of silence allows for deep places of their hearts to come to the surface within the security of the Holy Trinity. These silent retreats are a conversion experience. They are catalysts for the maturation and healing of the men who are discerning and preparing for a call to the priesthood of Jesus Christ.
Silence is essential for intimacy with God.
