Why I’m Supporting Music For Everyone—And Why I Hope You Will Too

For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the board of Music For Everyone (MFE). In that time, I’ve watched something remarkable happen: a small organization with a huge heart has multiplied its impact across our community in ways that continue to inspire me.

MFE invests in Lancaster through music—not as an accessory or a “nice-to-have,” but as a powerful tool for creativity, connection, and opportunity. And the results speak for themselves:

• Murals across Lancaster City, turning public spaces into vibrant, musical storytelling

• A Grant Program that has put nearly 15,000 instruments into local schools, uplifting music educators and students alike

• A full Instrument Repair Program that keeps those instruments in circulation—sustainable, cared for, and ready to be played

• One-on-one instruction for 350+ kids in the School District of Lancaster through MFE in the Schools

• Camp MFE, a completely underwritten summer experience where children discover music, confidence, and community

No matter who we are, where we come from, or how we vote, we can all agree that our community needs creative thinkers for the future. And research continues to show that music is one of the most powerful tools we have to develop that creativity.
