Well, it's a fine mess we got ourselves into now, isn't it! I hope everyone is doing their part to stay safe and healthy and I pray all of you stay that way. I want to fill you in on what we at Safe Animal Shelter are doing. The shelter is closed to the public for now but we are doing appointments for surrenders and adoptions as well as fosters. All of our dogs are currently adopted or in foster. None are at the shelter. We have about 25 beautiful cats and kittens that came from one hoarding house. They all have upper respiratory infections and worms and we are treating them all. We currently have over 225 pets waiting to be spayed and neutered once the veterinarians start up again. That will cost about $16,000! A few are pregnant . Kitten season is heating up and we have lots of kittens in foster as well. We are staying as sanitary as we possibly can and following all the virus protocols.
I look at it like this...If Safe Animal Shelter can come back from a devastating flood in 2017, in less than 4 months, with the help of our community support and supporters all over the country, then we can certainly get through this!
Once again we are asking for your support. Join our team and help us raise money to cover our medical expenses. One day in the near future we want to build a surgical unit so we can do our own surgeries, but for now we have to take care of our animals as soon as possible.
This looks to be a fun event and with your support we can make it a successful one!!! Please join and help if you can!!!
