Join the growing masses of the poor and dispossessed in the US and across the world as we fight for our survival while organizing for the life with dignity we all deserve!
Continuing the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King's "army of the poor", the Nonviolent Medicaid Army (NVMA) finds, gathers, and helps develop into leaders every day people from the frontlines of the war against the poor.
We know this war is fought everyday in our homes and our communities, in our struggles for housing, food, healthcare, and the basic necessities of life. We also see more and more everyday how this war has been and is being also waged on the poor abroad. We see this in Venezuela, in the destabilization of foreign governments that stand up to US economic interests, in Gaza and Lebanon and Iran in the bombing and destruction of hospitals, universities and homes, and in the increasingly cruel economic warfare being waged on our island neighbor in the Caribbean.
In the NVMA we know that the same powers that profit from this destruction abroad are also cutting off our healthcare and SNAP at home. We, the poor of the world, are in the same fight together! While bombs being dropped half way around the planet or a tightening blockade just 90 miles off Florida could seem disconnected from the hospital being closed down the road from you or whooping high prices at the grocery store, it is becoming increasing clear that both the oppressor of “us and them” is the same, and that our liberation has to be collective!
The only way we can WIN in this fight is to organize, organize, organize! We are connected in 13 states across the country and growing everyday. We also continue to build our connections and support with our comrades abroad, especially in the island during this time of deepening crisis. Your help today allows us to continue our work of building Support, Survival and Strategy for our comrades abroad.
Your donation helps to:
Raise money for critical goods: medicines, baby formula, generators and solar panels in particular.
Demonstrate our solidarity and ongoing commitment to them.
Support our capacity for a brigade of NVMA leaders to travel to the island***
Join the fight today - forward together! Not one step back!!
