In June 2019, I was diagnosed with WALDENSTROMS MACROGLOBULINEMIA. I am sure you are thinking what the heck it that? Basically it is a type of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
It is a rare type of cancer that begins in the white blood cells. Your bone marrow produces too many abnormal white blood cells that crowd out healthy blood cells. The cancer cells make large amounts of an abnormal protein (called a macroglobulin).
My visits for bloodwork with diagnoses is done every 3 - 6 months. Luckily for me, I am in the low grade category.
There is much research and science being done, but of course funds are what keep that train running reaching for a cure and a better quality of life. I am reaching out to my family and friends to donate whatever you can so the cure can be found.
In the meantime, I am keeping an upbeat attitude and will kick this WM in the butt!
Let's go TEAM...make me proud!
