Live Arts is moving to a new home!
COVID-19 may taken our stage, but Live Arts has said Challenge Accepted!
Live Arts is alive and well! We continue produce content both digitally and in various spaces around Gwinnett County as we continue the process to find our new home. We anticipate significant expenses associated with getting our new space ready to occupy, so every little bit helps!
At Live Arts, we have a catchphrase that you will hear if you hang out with us for any length of time. It's "challenge accepted!". Be it putting on a great show, finding a way to include people who for whatever reason had not been included before, or adapting our plans to deal with unforeseen circumstances, Live Arts does this with a smile.
This year, we are facing one of our greatest challenges yet. COVID-19 forced the sale of the building we had been using, which has forced us find another permanent location from which to operate out of.
So the Live Arts community has said "Challenge accepted!" and in the past year produced 4 plays, a zoom festival, and many workshops, all online while looking for a new home that will open when it is ready to do so. We also recently took a One Act Play in person to the GA Theatre Conference Community One Act Festival in Vidalia, GA where we took first place! That means we get to go to the regional festival in Memphis, TN this spring! We will be participating in a global musical called "All Together Now" November 12-13 with all funds raised going toward the new space.
But the new space is not only for us...at least two other groups also lost their home, and in the spirit of community, Live Arts is looking for a home that can provide for not only us but for Gwinnett Classic Theatre and All Starz Performing Arts as well. We hope to have enough space to expand our reach to include other groups as well.
So please, give what you can, and help us say "challenge accepted!" as we continue changing the world for years to come.
