It’s a decision no parent should have to make, yet it’s a reality for so many.
Today, I want to introduce you to Khayla, a determined single mom who has faced more obstacles than most of us could ever imagine.
For Khayla, life wasn’t easy. She lost her mother as a baby and spent her teenage years caring for her ailing grandfather. Later, she struggled with addiction, and when she found out she was pregnant, her partner walked away, leaving her to navigate single motherhood alone.
“I felt like every door was closing, and I was afraid I’d never be able to give my son a stable future,” Khayla shared.
HOPE, Inc. was able to step in and provide critical assistance for Khayla and her son, Sir. She is receiving rent assistance, and secured safe, affordable childcare so she can continue pursuing her college degree.
“For the first time in my entire life, I don’t feel alone. For the first time in my entire life, I truly believe that there are people who love and care about me and will help me succeed,” Khayla says.
Khayla is now only a few months away from graduating, and we need your help to help her, and other single moms in our program, finish out this year strong with their degrees in hand.
