We have a new program for adults: The Band Factory!
Each brand new band has two months to write three songs, and some of our participants have never even touched their instrument before joining. Wow! The program will culminate with a showcase November 2nd at National Sokols in Bethlehem, PA.
The Band Factory doubles as a fundraiser!
Why are we raising money?
In early 2019, after five years of being run by a team of dedicated volunteers, the board decided to hire an Executive Director in order to expand (and continue) our programming.
So far, we...
- held the 6th annual Girls Rock Camp (an empowerment camp based on being in a band).
- formed a Girls Rock Club band (comprised of youth campers).
- brought back Let's Rock Camp (the adult version of Girls Rock Camp).
- brought back L*dyfest (a concert celebrating gender inclusivity in music).
- developed a workshop series that continues to grow.
And we have more plans for the future! They include...
- holding two sessions of Girls Rock Camp (one for kids, one for teens).
- developing an after school program.
- expanding our partnerships within the community.
- and saving for a location to call our own where we’ll be able to do so much more! <3
