Yellow Jackets, the process is now beginning to Beat Your Rivals' Desires.

For too long, Byrd’s weight room facilities have fallen behind those of our local competitors. It’s time for that to change.

Our student-athletes — both boys and girls, across every sport — deserve better. They deserve equipment, spaces, and tools that reflect the tradition, excellence, and pride of what it means to be a Yellow Jacket.

While we continue working behind the scenes on a larger capital project through Jacket Pride — which will include a brand-new field house with a state-of-the-art weight room, media room, locker rooms, and more — we don’t want to wait to start making progress. That’s why we’re launching this effort now: to jump-start the transformation with a complete refurbishment of our current weight room.

Our goal for this is to raise $175,000. These funds will allow us to immediately:

  • Install new weight equipment

  • Add TVs and technology for workout station tracking

  • Apply a full repaint and visual refresh

  • Upgrade the auxiliary gym to serve additional teams and training purposes

And here's where the Jacket spirit comes in:

We’re inviting all classes and alumni to join in a spirited challenge. The first 18 graduating classes to raise $7,500 will earn naming rights on new weight equipment — a lasting way to honor your class and its legacy inside the walls where champions are built.

Every single donor — no matter the amount — will also be honored with their name on a permanent donor plaque in the facility. It’s our way of showing that every gift matters and every Jacket counts.

This is about more than weights and walls. It’s about building something together — a space where hard work, pride, and tradition come to life.

Let’s do this the Byrd way. Let’s build it. Let’s own it. Let’s Beat Your Rivals’ Desires. And let's show the community that Byrd and its students are Always Deep Within our Hearts.
