CITY DOGS Cleveland is a program of The City of Cleveland’s Division of Animal Care and Control, and supported by Friends of the Cleveland Kennel. The CITY DOGS mission is to increase adoptions from the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bulls who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be.

CITY DOGS Runners is a volunteer-run program that aims to increase the quality of life for the dogs in the care of Cleveland Animal Care and Control. Running, along with the daily play groups, reduces kennel stress, negative behaviors and socializes them with other dogs and people.   30 volunteers from CITY DOGS are running  a total of 600 MILES at the Burning River Endurance Run and Relay on July 27th. With our efforts, we hope to not only raise awareness to the program and its dogs, but raise much needed funding.

To keep these programs going and to manage the necessary medical care, food, enrichment and supplies to improve and save the lives of on average, 75 dogs a week, takes significant funding. This volunteer-run fundraiser aims to raise $30,000 to continue to save lives of Cleveland's adoptable dogs. Help us by donating today!
