$500 Goal

As many of you know, Neema International is a cause that is really personal to me and my mom. In 2018-2019 I volunteered in Uru, Tanzania for about seven months - with my mom coming to visit and volunteering for a few weeks as well. My time in Tanzania was incredibly challenging for me, as the nonprofit owners was going through personal challenges and I required a TON of support to adjust to the village. I went to Tanzania to help those around me, but I required a MASSIVE amount of help myself to adjust to living in the village.

A short thank you to those at Neema International that helped me:

- Ali for helping me add electricity to my house for the first time, long drives to Arusha, helping with my VISA, giving me tea tree oil when I got lice and COUNTLESS other acts of kindness.

- Mandy for letting me live at her house, drive her car and take care of her adorable puppies.

- Nobert and Brian for coming every time my car broke down, meeting with the VISA officers with me and being wonderful company.

- Mama Love for teaching me Swahili, comforting me when I was homesick, also trying to take the lice out of my hair and helping me with household chores.

- Prince for teaching me how to make lemongrass tea and showing me the garden.

- Mama Mille for inviting me to Easter lunch with her family since I said I would be missing mine.

- Liaza for helping me into the office every day AND on the weekends.

And MANY others.

Before volunteering for Neema International, I was passionate about helping others. And I still am BUT I also know that the people in Uru were VERY willing to help me too! I want to continue to help them in any way that I can!

The Neema Associate Board organized a virtual Kilimanjaro Climb and I would LOVE for any friends and family join my team. Me and my mom are  committing to walking/running 37 miles each by December 1st. Our fundraising goal is $500 and I will personally match any donations up to the limit of $250 combined!

There is no commitment to donate by joining our team. However, if you would like to you can either:

- do a one time donation (which I will match up to $250)

- have someone sponsor you by the mile (ex. $1 for every mile that you do before December 1st)

We are really excited to get moving together with friends and family towards a cause!
