Equi-Ed has been providing a therapeutic riding and adapted sport program for individuals with disabilities, ages 4 to adult, in Sonoma and Napa counties since 1993. Since 2017 we, like so many others, have been significantly impacted by wildfires, evacuations and over the past 18 months, COVID. Our income to maintain the program and horses has decreased, but we have persevered in spite of having to cancel all lessons and later to restrict participation based upon COVID protocols. With this years fundraiser we are hoping to replenish and increase our funds in the areas of: Rider and the WAVE (Wounded American Veterans Equestrian) scholarship programs, and the Special Needs and Retirement Horse fund.
Please help us reach these goals by:
- Contributing to a specific request from a rider, volunteer or staff member,
- Sponsoring one of the horses! Several of the volunteers and staff will be setting up one of the program horses team member page. Look for Tooey, Charlotte, Harley, Mike, Spice, Garland, Peggy, Vinur and Karma's on the Leaderboard above left.
- Making a direct, general donation on this site or on our website www.equi-ed.org.
Students, volunteers and staff will be seeking sponsorships for their participation in Hoofbeats. Students will ride the designated course while volunteers and staff will be walking it to give riders support and provide safety. You may be contacted by an individual to sponsor them as a member of this team, the 3 students and volunteers who receive the highest amounts of sponsorships will each receive an additional special prize.
