Summer should be a time to relax and have fun, to enjoy the beautiful weather and everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Unfortunately, far too many families are faced with impossible choices like putting healthy food on the table, paying rent, making a car payment or paying a utility bill.
When kids are home for the summer, many lose access to free and reduced meals at school, putting further strain on budgets already stretched thin and forcing parents to make impossible choices.
Food insecurity impacts more than 1,000,000 individuals living in Western Washington and 31% of them are children.
Food Frenzy is the annual fundraiser for Food Lifeline created by the amazing people of DWT and is now in its 33rd year! The annual fundraiser is a two-week competition that brings local Seattle businesses and community groups together to raise monetary and in-kind donations to help get nutritious food into the communities that need it most. DWT has won the legal sector competition every year and we expect to do so again this year!
Your support during Food Frenzy means more nutritious, culturally relevant food for kids and families this summer. By stocking the shelves of more than 400 food pantries, meal programs, shelters and mobile distributions, you help to ensure our neighbors have access to the foods they want and need to thrive.
