My Story
My Kindering story begins in 2001 as a speech-language pathologist seeing infants and toddlers in their homes and childcare programs, and then variations of Chief Program Officer for many years. In 2004, with the birth of my now teenager, I became a Kindering parent accessing critical therapies for my baby boy. Now, as CEO leading Kindering during this unprecedented time, I find it helpful to wear my staff and alumni-parent hats whenever possible. I deeply admire both our staff and families persevering through 2020. I can only imagine the extra burdens that 2020 has placed on both staff and families as they have had to adapt to a virtual world during the most critical early years of providing therapy. I am so proud of our staff and the many Kindering parents who are showing tremendous resilience and an incredible commitment to critical therapies during this time. Please join me in supporting them as together, in partnership, they transform our children’s futures.

Why
Kindering supports children with developmental disabilities, delays and risk factors throughout the Puget Sound area. They help children reach their developmental milestones, while also supporting the entire family on the unexpected journey of raising a child with special needs. Kindering provides support, therapies, and education, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The goal of every Kindering program and service is to help children of all abilities reach their fullest potential. Kindering's vision is that all children will be fully and equitably included in their homes, schools and communities.
Early treatment of developmental difficulties makes a life-changing difference. The research is clear. As 85% of brain development occurs from birth to three, this is the most important window for providing infants and toddlers with special needs the best chance for success.
Kindering's annual Salute to Courage Benefit is crucial to raising the funds needed to continue their important work. Your support is needed more than ever. Join my team to help Kindering reach their goal of $150,000!
