We Dedicate Mother's Day to Getting Diapers to Ukrainian Families in Crisis.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine nearly two months ago, the conflict has escalated into a full scale humanitarian crisis. Over 4.9 million people have fled the country, and another 7 million have been displaced internally in that short space of time. Roughly 90% of them are women and children living in a state of uncertainty without access to even the most basic of necessities. We dedicate Mother’s Day to raising funds to get diapers to the Ukrainian refugees who need them most.

Will You Join Us?
Last month, a mutual supporter connected us directly to USA for UNHCR (the US branch of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee). Since partnering with them, we have sent over 100,000 diapers to the Poland/Ukraine border, but there is so much more work to do. Funds raised will be used to send diapers directly to USA for UNHCR so that they can get diapers to the families who need them the most.

We Need Your Help.
While the majority of our work is carried out in the San Francisco Bay Area, this cause resonates with us for many reasons. Here are just three of the reasons for this “special operation” fundraiser:
- Our grassroots community wants a way to help Ukraine.
- Diapers+ will be donated directly through USA for UNHCR.
- Our U.S. based suppliers also do business in Europe. We hope to source diapers etc. within the E.U., to simplify logistics/keep shipping costs low.
Strangers have been leaving strollers, diapers, coats, and other basic needs at train stations near the Ukrainian border. Help us make sure that these families have what they need to keep their babies healthy and dry.
Help a Mother Out® has provided over 40 million diapers since 2009.
Help a Mother Out® works to improve baby and family well being by increasing access to diapers for families in need. Our vision is a day when every baby has a healthy supply of diapers.
Since our founding in 2009, our primary focus has been helping our neighbors, stateside. We distribute diapers to families in need through a network of social service partners including public health departments, family resource centers, voluntary home visiting programs and facilitated parent support groups. We also advocate for the inclusion of diapers in the social safety net.
Help a Mother Out has a long-standing history assisting those fleeing violence and oppression, as well as those who simply wish to live with dignity. Our Founder and Executive Director was herself an immigrant to the United States; she was born in wartime Saigon and brought to the U.S. as a toddler. Through our diverse partner network, we get urgently needed diapers to families, including refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, immigrants, and those impacted by natural disasters. This includes recent Afghan refugees, U.S./Mexico border relief, CA wildfires, and mutual aid to diaper banks in CA and beyond. We also recently expanded our SF Diaper Bank to Medi-Cal families. Our programs are open to anyone in need, regardless of immigration status, country of origin or religion.
