$5,000 Goal

Helping Strays was established in 2002 to help reduce the stray dog and cat population in Monroe County, IL.   Since our start, Helping Strays has placed nearly 6,400 animals! We receive no state or federal support so all of our funds come from special events, donations, and fundraisers such as the House Pawty.

As with everyone everywhere, COVID-19 is making quite an impact on our shelter.  Funds and donations are severely down at the shelter.  Thankfully we have incredible fosters who have taken most of the animals out of the shelter and into their homes to provide them a safe place to stay during this pandemic.  Our concern is what happens after this?  We need to resume normal intakes and adoptions and we need to make sure we have the resources to do so.  That's why this fundraiser is so important.

By donating to this fundraiser, either through a participant's page or the Helping Strays' main page, we can begin to build some of the funds we have not been able to raise due to COVID-19 and make sure we do have the resources that will be needed to help current and future strays find their forever home.

For everyone who donates $250, you will receive a tee shirt of your choice from our Shelter Gift Shop.  Thanks for your support and making a difference while being confined at home!
