In 2013, Jacob Landis decided to combine his three passions—baseball, cycling, and helping the hearing impaired—by riding to all 30 U.S. Major League baseball stadiums to raise money for those who can benefit from cochlear implants but cannot afford it. Cochlear implants are the most successful medical intervention for those profoundly deaf or severely hard-of-hearing. Having been implanted at the age of 10, Jacob knew the difference a cochlear implant had made in his life. While Jacob is no longer riding his bike across the country, Jacob’s Ride has continued to raise money in order to give the precious gift of hearing. Jacob’s Ride is all-volunteer organization and has no employees. Today, we have the ability to implant eight individuals annually with a budget of only $70,000. Be part of someone’s miracle today and choose to give the gift of hearing.
