Welcome to the Johns Creek Georgia Gives Day Litter-a-Thon Competition!
By clicking "Join This Team" participants enter into the Johns Creek Competition for KNFB's Georgia Gives Day Litter-a-Thon.
You'll compete with other Johns Creek competitors for prizes, glory, and of course, clean up the environment while fundraising on behalf of Keep North Fulton Beautiful!
How it works
You'll rally sponsors behind you that pledge a dollar amount for each pound of litter you collect between November 1st and 29th. On or before November 30th--Georgia Gives Day--sponsors donate to your personal landing page based on how much litter you collected. The Johns Creek participant that has raised the most funds wins the competition and the prize! All donations benefit Keep North Fulton Beautiful. Learn what your donations help us do.
Get involved!
1. Click "Join This Team" to enter into Johns Creek's Georgia Gives Day Litter-a-Thon Competition.
2. Create your personal landing page (this is where you'll be able to set a personal fundraising goal, show sponsors your cleanup and financial progress, and they can offer you encouragement!)
3. Find sponsors! Sponsors commit a dollar amount for each pound of litter you collect between November 1-November 29th. (Feeling shy about asking? Need some help? Don't worry! Here's a toolkit of posts, images, text, ideas, and a pledge tracker to get you started, and we'll be here for you as you go). The more sponsors you have, the easier it will be for you to reach your goal.
4. Collect litter between November 1-29th! Hit the trails, parks, streets, streams (hop in a kayak!), any place that has litter and is accessible to you.
5. Weigh the litter you collect, or use these guidelines: one plastic grocery bag of litter is 2 lbs; one 13-gallon bag of litter is 15 lbs; on 30-gallon bag of litter is 25 lbs. Keep track of the pounds of litter you collect! Remember, your sponsors are donating based on how much you collect!
6. Update and share your page with the amount of litter you've collected regularly or on November 15th and November 29th. Your sponsors can see your progress, offer encouragement, and donate as you go. Having sponsors donate through your personal landing page will get you on the Johns Creek Competition leaderboard where you can see how you stack up against the competition.
7. Take pictures of your cleanups! Tag @keepnorthfultonbeautiful on Facebook and Instagram so we can brag about your hard work.
8. November 30th, GA Gives Day! Make sure that all your sponsors have donated to your personal landing page based on the amount of litter you collected by the end of the day--the competition ends at midnight! The participant who has raised the most funds, wins!
9. The Johns Creek GA Gives Day Litter-a-Thon Competition winner is announced! Stay tuned to social media and your inbox to find out if you're the winner!
