Lee Smart, P.S., Inc. is once again joining forces with companies of all kinds from across Western Washington to raise funds for Food Lifeline through the annual Food Frenzy competition. This competition focuses mainly on feeding kids.
Summer should be a time to relax and play but for far too many kids and families, summer only exacerbates food insecurity in our communities. Nationwide, nearly 22 million children count on school provided meals. Fewer than 1 in 6 have access to summer meal programs. In Washington state, food insecurity will affect 400,000 students this summer.
When kids are away from school, many lose access to free meals, putting a strain on budgets already stretched thin, especially with food prices so much higher this year. That’s why your involvement in Food Frenzy is so important! Through your support, Food Lifeline is able to get nutritious food into the communities that need it most, helping to relieve some of the financial burden and stress faced by many families this time of year.
