SHAVE FOR THE BRAVE
Did you know that there are over 20,000 military veterans in Loudoun County -- one of the largest concentrations of veterans in the United States? Many of these brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and independence sometimes find themselves in need of a helping hand to get them back on their feet. Fortunately, together we can do something about this!
Loudoun Veterans and Family Support (LVFS) -- a partnership between Community Lutheran Church in Sterling and the Falcons Landing Chapter of the Military Officers Association of American (MOAA) -- was established in 2016 to provide immediate assistance to needy Loudoun County veterans and their families. In the past, this assistance has included helping veterans avoid eviction, pay their bills, obtain medical equipment and support, repair or replace vehicles, find employment and obtain transportation to medical appointments.
Our Loudoun County veterans need your support!
On Saturday, July 6, from 1pm to 6pm, LVFS will host a "Shave for the Brave" charity event at Spanky's Shenanigans in Leesburg, VA, to raise money to benefit Loudoun County's very own veterans. You are invited to participate in this event – here’s what you can do:
Pledge to shave your head, beard, mustache, or ALL 3! It's a small sacrifice to support those that sacrificed so much and now desperately need our help.
Register as a participant for the event by clicking the "Join This Event " button above. Follow the step by step guide to customize your own personal fundraising page or get a group of friends together and start a team page.
Once completed, publish your page for the world to see! Share it on social media, email it to your contacts list, and spread it by word of mouth.
Ask your family and friends to donate money to sponsor your shave. Then, bring them to the event to watch you SHAVE FOR THE BRAVE!
Even if you don’t shave, join us at this event for some laughs and an all-around good time! We will have craft beer on tap donated by local breweries, a raffle for door prizes, event t-shirts for sale and live music from Nashville recording artist Gabe Marshall!
