As many of you are aware, violence and homicide has overtaken our local neighborhoods, affecting the lives of our children daily. When violence affects our children, it affects our community as a whole.
Although homicide cases receive heightened attention from media and the criminal justice system, the children who are directly affected lack adequate support.
After a violent death, children in particular, experience a wide range of emotions and need support, resources, and specific services. Having a strong support system and individuals educated on how to help, is a huge factor for establishing resiliency for youth who have experienced trauma and loss through violence. This is where The M.I.C.H.A.E.L Organization steps in!
