$10,000 Goal

Animal Resources of Tidewater is a nonprofit organization that provides resources to support a No-Kill community by providing funding for veterinary care to keep at-risk pets in their homes and out of shelters, paying for low-cost spay and neuter, and advocating for lifesaving programs and policies.

Annually, ART spend approximately $100,000 on its Medical Assistance program which is designed to help families keep their pets healthy and out of the shelter, when those families are going through a difficult time financially.  ART pays for routine care, diagnostic tests and lifesaving surgeries.

ART spends about $25,000 a year on spay/neuter of owned animals and community cats.

From 2015 to 2019, ART spent over $565,000 on Medical Assistance and Spay/Neuter in Hampton Roads to keep pets in homes and decrease unplanned litters, both aimed at reducing shelter intake and euthanasia.  In 2015, the save rate for sheltered dogs and cats in Hampton Roads was 71%.  By the end of 2019, the save rate rose to 82%.
