Neonatal Kitten Rescue was built from the ground up - from kittens being taken care of in the Director’s home in 2018 to a family of over 25 foster homes in 2020! Our strength is in our fosters, volunteers, and donors and we can't do this without you! Together, over 200 animals were placed in loving homes in 2019 and with your help (even in these crazy COVID19 times) we can do the same or more! It's going to be a challenging spring and fall - social distancing, limited non-essential vet appointments, KITTEN SEASON ... but together we know we can still make amazing things happen for the homeless animals in the Tri-Cities, TN area.
As of April 10, we currently have 120 kittens in the rescue, with 82 of these placed in trained foster homes. We understand that we are reaching out during uncertain times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please know, despite the unknown future, that Neonatal Kitten Rescue remains committed to fighting for vulnerable, at-risk lives, no matter what life throws at us.
As the hours pass, a scary reality for us is emerging: We are experiencing a drop in gifts that support our lifesaving programs, on top of losses to critical operating funds from planned events that had to be cancelled.
Many members of our community are stepping up to move as many pets as possible into foster, and we are so grateful; but to continue saving lives during these next few months, we have to reach out and be honest: We are in survival mode and need your help.
If 10 people gave $5, that would allow us to vaccinate a litter kittens or to spay/neuter a kitten. If 10 people gave $10, that would cover the costs to bring an additional at-risk pet into our care. If 20 people gave $20, that would save a litter of kittens with panleukopenia. No gift is too small to make an impact.
