In 2024, the Ayiti Community Trust board launched a series of Goute Peyi M-inspired Signature Dinners—intimate gatherings where Haitian culture, cuisine, and community came together in support of ACT’s endowment fund. Each event offered guests a chance to experience the culinary talents of honored Haitian chefs while engaging in meaningful conversations about ACT’s mission and long-term vision for Ayiti.
The series began on April 11 at Board Chair Ghislain Gouraige, Jr.’s home (pictured above), where Chefs Jouvens Jean and Durand crafted a vibrant, tradition-inspired menu. With 13 guests in attendance—including board members, staff, and supporters—the evening set the tone for what followed: commitments to host future dinners and a generous $15,000 funding pledge dispersed over three years. The series continued on June 6 at artist Edouard Duval-Carrié’s studio with Chef Rachelle Daoud Lexima, co-hosted by Joëlle Cerge and James Meyer; returned to Gouraige’s home on October 30 with Chefs Patrick Beaulieu and Lexima; and concluded on November 15 at Chef Lexima’s residence.
These warm, personal gatherings are where relationships deepen, new connections form, and everyone leaves knowing they’ve only just begun to savor the flavor of a truly good investment.
