Boys & Girls Clubs across Atlanta are uniting for Great Futures Week 2021 - March 29 through April 2 - to showcase the potential of our young leaders and to highlight the vision our kids have for the future.
Young voices have power. Through Boys & Girls Club programs like Keystone Club and Youth of the Year, kids and teens are developing a passion for service and are leading in their schools, Clubs, and communities.
Thanks to your support, we see our Club members thriving in life and creating a brighter future for the world.

Camp Kiwanis
“My Club teaches me the important of making memories wherever you go."
Roderick Thomas is a member of the Warren Boys & Girls Club, but before that, he attended the Thomasville Boys & Girls Club. It’s not open anymore, but he made a lot of memories there and now, he has been making new memories at the Warren Club for the past two years. He is proud to represent Warren as the Camp Kiwanis Youth of the Year. Camp Kiwanis exposes youth to outdoor activities that build teamwork and leadership.
Through the CareerBound college and career readiness program, Roderick learned how to build a resume. Through the Camp Kiwanis LINK program (Leaders in Nature’s Kingdom), he was able to get CPR/first aid certified, learned about nature and animals and skills for teaching other youth. He also learned a lot about teamwork: “My Club led me to summer volunteer opportunities at Zoo Atlanta. When I got there, I was surprised to find out that they were also hiring. I ended up applying and landed a part-time job”.
Roderick says that “as our parents and other adults tell us, we are the future of America, and we need to take this country to a higher level. We have freedom of speech and we need to use it to express how we feel and what we are passionate about”. He also wants to use his Youth of the Year platform to raise awareness about child hunger. He believes that we can find solutions to address this issue if more people are made aware about it.
Make your gift today and help Camp Kiwanis reach our goal of raising $1,000 by April 2!
