Tennessee Voices For Victims works to support victims of violent crime. We refer victims to services that can help them begin the difficult process of restoring their lives. We help victims find their voice, and we are a voice for them in our state. We work to prevent crime through education. We present on topics such as domestic violence, child abuse, rape, sexting/cyberbullying and others to help raise awareness about these devastating crimes. Knowledge about these crimes can help prevent them, but also can identify victimization so it an be healed. We work every week in prison with incarcerated men and women, facilitating victim impact classes. 98% of the people who are incarcerated WILL return to our community. How do we want them returning to us? The goal: No more victims. Restoration and healing for the offender, their own family, which ultimately impacts the victim and the community for good. TVFV uses our voice to impact crime and justice issues in our state. We are currently leading a state-wide initiative that will improve victim services in cases of mass violence events. Tennessee is only one of a few states currently working on such an initiative.
