Boston's pedicabbers are gearing up for their most important ride of the season.

The start of our trek, June 24 2022, will be here before we know it!
We need you to hop on board with your support!

We're pedaling an epic 150-mile trek from Newport to Boston to raise awareness, funds, pandemic relief and hope for our Boston-local neighbor, Haley House.

For over a decade, Boston's adorably goofy pedicab drivers have spent the summer quietly raising money and awareness for vital causes. We also raise hopes. We certainly raise a ruckus. So we call it TrikeRise. This year we’re hoping for your support.

TrikeRise is totally grass roots, organized by the lovable (if scruffy) Pedicabber community of Boston. We trade our trikes for bikes for 48 hours, and raise awareness and fun for a local charity neighbor of ours, Haley House.

Our ride begins in Newport, RI on June 24th, 2022, and arrives in Boston, MA on June 26th.

Pedicab drivers will be donating from their shift earnings towards our cause. (If you ride a pedicab this summer, TIP BIG, because a lot of that money will be going to a GREAT cause!)

The pandemic has had a brutal effect on so many communities.Haley House’s important Boston-local work was hit hard, so this year we are especially requesting you to dig deep and help us help them rise back up!

WHOA! 150 miles?? Tell me more!

Pedicabbers (nicknamed "slabs") can pedal for hours and hours – and hours! We're the experts at converting pedal-power into cold-hard-cash.

So when you take away our third-wheel and put us on regular bikes, well, we're not too shabby at fundraising.  An event of this scale helps generate excitement and enthusiasm, and captures our spirit-rasising energy in a unique, meaningful way.

That's right; you can donate to the cause AND get a pedicab ride at the same time! Pretty sick, right?

There's more details about our amazing benefactor down below, so get reading!

I’m in! How can I help?

We're glad you asked! We need you to make a donation right now to the cause. We don't care if it's $500 or $5 – every little bit is gonna help us! Remember, Haley House is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, so all those donations are tax deductible. (Tax ID: 04-2437845)

Can I join the effort in other ways?

Yes! We need lots of different things to make this ride a success. Some ideas (among many) include:

  • Sharing  to your social media – OFTEN!
  • Back-up bike parts
  • Raffle prize donations for our annual pre-ride fundraiser night
  • Food donations
  • T-shirt printing services
  • Company donations & Sponsorship

And there's probably a lot of other little things too. Hit us up at TrikeRise21@gmail.com with ideas and interest!

I'm with a schmancy-pants company.
Can we be official sponsors for you guys?

Oh, heck yes! We will PROUDLY display logos on our shirts (which we’ll be wearing all up and down the New England coast on the ride) and all printed and web materials — including our combined MASSIVE Instagram force of well over 100K!

If your company wants in, email us at TrikeRise19@gmail.com.  Welcome aboard!

So, why Haley House?

Glad you asked...

The Haley House soup kitchen hosts 9 free meals a week, a food pantry, and a clothing room. When we're out riding the streets of Boston, we see tons of amazing things. Yet, sadly, we often interact directly with those who struggle the most.

The pedicabbers of Boston regularly see folks who are challenged by hunger, homelessness, addiction, and those with lack of resources to get ahead.  In a city as well-educated and wealthy as Boston, it is truly a tragedy how often we see those who are unable to meet basic needs.

Especially during the pandemic, many have been hit even harder with even less support.

When driving a pedicab, we are also often lucky enough to  experience the power of human kindness in real time. Pedicabbers know better than anyone that transformation begins with a single, kind (and hopefully generous) act. That's what the streets of Boston teach us.  So we sought a charity that would support work that offer such kindness in bleak circumstances, and maybe better manage what is a massive  problem in Boston.
