With the passage of Act 48 Vermont was set on the path to a universal public healthcare system. But well-funded powers were determined that this would not come to pass, and they fought back on the financing front. Today we continue organizing to get this law fully implemented. We are a member-run organization with a small staff, but we do have expenses like supplies for our pop-up health clinics and community meals and supports for member participation such as childcare, transportation, and interpretation.
