2017 Chris Washington, a talented young African-American photographer, prepares to meet his Caucasian girlfriend Rose Armitage's parents during a weekend in their Lake Pontaco house. Chris and Rose have been together for five months, and the Armitages are completely unaware that their daughter's sweetheart is black. But when Chris finally meets Rose's mother, a psychiatrist who specializes in hypnosis, and her father, a neurosurgeon, he will soon realize that the family is surrounded by black servants in the total privacy of their magnificent, yet secluded estate in the woods. Little by little, as the friendly and polite ambience gives way to an indistinguishable, rather unrecognizable threat, the unsettling mood coupled with sheer dread will quickly disturb the family's tranquil façade. What could the Armitages be hiding? And why is there an off-limits, locked room that leads to the basement? Rating: 7,8 / 10 audience score: 453629 votes writers: Jordan Peele

Boring, dry and just an all around terrible film. Not worthy to watch.
Great atmosphere marred by a ton of plotholes and general lack of logic.
First off, the score is way to high right now, like 8.2 from 44k people. i was expecting something like "Shining" or with that score. what i got was a very predictable and kinda boring movie where you just wait to the end to see if your theory was correct. hell, i knew what was going on like after 10min in, just pay some attention. i also think the score is because it's a dark-skinned character in the lead, American white guilt... i say the score will decrease once the rest of the world sees this mediocre piece of work. 5/10.
I cant believe this movie scored a 7.9 om IMDb. While this movie was fairly intriguing at the start it got worse as the movie progressed. Actually, I couldn't for this movie to end.
Why? The story got more ridiculous as the movie went on. Characters did a 180 from their original personalty. When you actually find out why it's quite comical.
For any real movie buffs stay away.
