Since 1969, the Hampton-Newport News Kappa League has stood as a premier mentorship program dedicated to the growth and success of young men in grades 6–12. Our mission is to transform ambitious students into the leaders of tomorrow by providing a roadmap for academic excellence, personal integrity, and professional achievement.
With a consistent enrollment of approximately 60 dedicated young men each year, our program fosters a brotherhood that yields tangible results—including a high school graduation rate of over 97%. We achieve this by focusing on four core pillars of development:
Leadership & Self-Identity: We cultivate the inherent talents of our members, preparing them to take on leadership roles both in their collegiate careers and their local communities.
College & Career Readiness: From scholarship guidance to career planning, we provide the tools necessary for students to navigate higher education and graduate with minimal debt.
Purposeful Mentorship: By pairing participants with the professionals of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., we offer consistent guidance that promotes a positive self-image and mental well-being.
Strategic Networking: We open doors to professional environments, giving our young men exposure to successful role models and diverse career paths.
