American Legion "Frank Patterson" Post 43 is one of the oldest American Legion Posts in the nation, dating back to 1919. It is named in honor of World War I veteran Frank Patterson, who was a resident of nearby Madison, NJ. American Legion Post 43 is active in the communities of Madison, Florham Park, East Hanover and greater Morris County. The Post provides comfort and relief for area veterans at risk, awards scholarships for local high school students, sponsors youth leadership programs, and serves as a central meeting point for area veterans to enjoy fellowship.
