The veterans and volunteers of small American Legion Post 43, located in Florham Park/Madison, NJ, are hoping you might be able to help us offset some of the costs that we are facing with flooring replacement that we urgently need in our main meeting room.

Our current flooring probably dates back to the Nixon administration; it is worn, scuffed, stained, and portions of it are de-laminating from the floor.  We have tried every method possible to clean it, steam it, scrub it, and polish it...but the unsightly stains and scratches on the deck are permanent.

We contacted 4 businesses to give us an estimate for inexpensive "simulated" hardwood flooring.  The best price came from a Madison owned business, and the cost they quoted was a bit over $5000.

We would be so grateful for any person(s) or organizations that would be willing to step up and help us defray some of the expenses of this project.

The meeting room is frequently used for veteran outreach effort and community engagement.  Post 43 hosts dinners for disabled veterans, conducts interviews for students seeking college scholarships, screens high school candidates for our "Boys State" and "Girls State" leadership programs, and uses the room for our monthly meetings and frequent social activities for veterans.

THANK YOU for considering American Legion Post 43 for your generous donation.  We really appreciate any help we can get, no matter how modest.

Our current, tired and worn floor.
