Our Mission
Our mission is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to achieve their life goals by offering support that leads to greater independence, choice, and full participation and inclusion in the community.
We envision a diverse and equitable community in which all individuals with developmental disabilities are included, respected, and thriving.
Who We Are
Since 1953, The Arc of Riverside County has been committed to advocacy, justice, and improving the quality of life for people with IDD in partnership with their families and other members of their support team.
We are a private, nonprofit corporation serving adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, a population typically underserved, overlooked and devalued by society. These are among the many reasons we take pride in providing much-needed services for these individuals; services including day program services, job training, self-care, community support, artistic expression, personal development, and much more.
Our Services
Adult Day Services
The goal of our day programs is to provide meaningful, quality services to adults with IDD in a supportive environment that promotes inclusion, choice, and independence. Our services include personal development classes, community integrated activities, self-care and daily living support, mobility therapy, artistic expression, and much more.
Job Training & Job Placement
The placement of our participants in community employment is an important component of our overall mission. The Arc’s Discovery program creates job opportunities for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
My Play Club®
The Arc of Riverside County hosts My Play Club®, a seasonal monthly play date program for children with and without special needs, designed to promote inclusion and break down barriers. On the third Saturday of the month (April-October), The Arc brings families together at Fairmount Park's Universally Accessible Playground to participate in a fun-filled event bringing friendship and awareness to hundreds of children in the community.
My Play Club was originated by Shane’s Inspiration, a non-profit organization devoted to creating inclusive playgrounds and programs that unite children with all abilities.
