Baw Baw Animal Welfare is committed to build A compassionate world where every little life is valued. We focus on creating a better life for stray dogs and cats in Sri Lanka through various projects 

There are nearly 5 million stray dogs and cats in Sri Lanka. Man's best friend is suffering unspeakably mainly because of ill activities done by humans.  There are no real animal rights laws in Sri Lanka. Therefore people often abuse animals, dump puppies and kittens like trash on roads, in abundant spaces without any consequences. Because of lack of education people are hesitant to sterilize their own animals which creates the issue even bigger.

As a solution to manage stray animal population and to reduce the number of fatal rabies cases we have implemented Sterilization and Vaccination programs all over the Island. These programs come with training and information sessions for general public on the importance of getting pets sterilized and vaccinated.

With many animals on the streets they suffer from critical illnesses, accidents, physical abuse from unkind people with no where to turn to. Our organization is committed saving those helpless lives as well.

We conduct educational programs for children teaching kindness and compassion towards all animals. We know that it is important for children to be taught at a young age the importance of animal well being to make a positive impact on the future.
