Our mission is to break the circle of poverty through education.  House of Blue Hope raise funds, resources, and social awareness to support children in Tanzania.

The idea for the House of Blue Hope was conceived in December 2006 by a teacher at Loyola High School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a few young alumni of the school, as a small attempt to help extend the gift of education to vulnerable children in the area who were not enrolled in schools. A small governing board of both U.S. and Tanzanian citizens was formed, and the House of Blue Hope Foundation was then registered as a non-profit organization in the U.S. to support the project financially. Funds were raised in the U.S., and within two months a small plot was purchased in Mabibo, Dar es Salaam in February 2007. More funds were raised, blueprints were drawn, and construction on a facility to house these children started in June 2007.

By December 2007, nine boys moved into the house our first house.  In 2016 the first group of girls joined House of Blue Hope.

In 2023, House of Blue Hope supports 68 boys and girls, including five young adults attending colleague and technical school.  Our goal is to reach 100 kids by the end of 2024.  Please click in "donate" to support our mission.
