Jonnie and Friends Reach for the Stars strives to revitalize the fully accessible Universal Universe playground located in Southside Community Park near downtown Sacramento.

By raising funds and collaborating with the City of Sacramento, we install fun, inclusive play structures that allow kids of all abilities to play together, make friends, and reach for the stars.

In the City of Sacramento alone, there are a total of 11,611 children and young people with disabilities.

These children all benefit from having a fully accessible, well-maintained playground where they can play, dream, and meet new friends. 

Together, we are revitalizing an inclusive playground where children of all abilities can learn, grow, and have fun while playing with their peers.

We are thrilled to be participating in the Big Day of Giving for the second year in a row. This year, we're focused on raising final funds needed to bring a Sensory Play Center to the Universal Universe playground. 

Sensory Play Center:   Cost: $40,900 / Goal: $16,000

This interactive play feature will offer a multi-sensory experience where children can explore textures, sounds, and shapes. Designed to stimulate peripheral vision, visual tracking, and tactile exploration, the Sensory Play Center will make the playground even more engaging and inclusive for all.
