About Nisria

Nisria is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Kenya registered organization based in Gilgil, Kenya. Holding safe havens for vulnerable children, young adults, and women since 2016.

We believe every child deserves a home, every family deserves support to stay together, and every woman deserves a path to independence. Our holistic model wraps each person we serve in rescue, education, food, health, livelihoods, and rehabilitation, all rooted in the community we call home.

What we do:

🏠 Kwetu Haven | Our rescue home in Gilgil stabilizes children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or exploitation, then works to reunite them with family.

📚 Education Sponsorship | We sponsor 60 students from primary school through university, covering tuition, materials, and boarding where needed.

🍽️ Food Program | Monthly food packages and an on-site soup kitchen serve hundreds of Gilgil families every month.

❤️ Health & Wellness | Counseling, checkups, psychosocial support, and emergency care for children and community women.

👗 Maisha By Nisria | Our upcycled fashion vocational training workshop empowers women and youth with dignified livelihoods through sustainable fashion, featured in Vogue Italy, The Guardian, and Al Jazeera.

🐾 Kepenzi By Nisria | Handcrafted pet accessories made from upcycled textile waste by vulnerable young adults and mothers in Gilgil.

💍 AHADI By Nisria | Handcrafted jewelry by artisan women in Kibera, Nairobi, funding skills training and economic independence.

Our impact:
