Project 22 was established with the purpose of raising and disseminating funds for Social, Educational and Human Services on behalf of under privileged individuals in Western Wayne County. Project 22 seeks to empower the community through innovative programs and services focusing on Education, Economic Development, Health Awareness and Civic Engagement.

Project 22 was chartered as a 501(c)3 on June 6, 2007. Over the years, the organization has sponsored Stay at Home Teas and Prayer Breakfasts to raise funds to conduct its mission. Since its inception in 2007, Project 22 has partnered with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Inkster Alumnae Chapter to provide financial support for their Scholarship Program. Scholarships are disbursed annually to students to celebrate their accomplishments and support their desire to pursue their dreams.

The organization functions under the direction of its Board of Directors whose current President is Dr. Ingrid Wilson Johnson. The organization hopes to continue to support individuals in Western Wayne County in achieving total wellness in financial, mental, physical, and spiritual health.
