On behalf of SAVE THE FROGS! and our worldwide network of staff and volunteers, we thank you for your interest in supporting our worldwide amphibian conservation efforts!
SAVE THE FROGS! was created in 2008 as the world’s first public charity dedicated exclusively to amphibians, which have been rapidly disappearing in recent decades. We work in California, across the United States, and around the world to prevent the extinction of amphibians and make the world a better place for wildlife and for humans.
Amphibians populations have been declining worldwide at unprecedented rates, and nearly one-third of the world’s amphibian species are threatened with extinction. Up to 200 species have completely disappeared in recent decades, an extinction rate several thousand times higher than normal. Amphibian populations are faced with an array of environmental problems, including pollution, infectious diseases, habitat loss, invasive species, climate change, and over-harvesting for the pet and food trades.
SAVE THE FROGS! has created, restored and protected habitat for threatened amphibian populations; spearheaded successful local, state and federal governmental actions on behalf of frogs and salamanders; and educated millions of people worldwide about the importance of this often-forgotten group of animals. Our global network of staff, volunteers and donors have organized over 2,000 educational events in 60+ countries, helping to educate, inspire and empower the next generation of amphibian conservationists and ensure the survival of threatened amphibian species. STF! is recognized as the worldwide leader in amphibian education and conservation efforts through the multitude of programs we conduct, including Save The Frogs Day, live presentations in schools and universities, online training, wetland restoration, ecotours, and scientific research.
